Meet Ruth

I started taking pictures when I arrived in Hong Kong in 2011. Hong Kong is such a fantastic city to explore and an ideal learning ground for street photography. I joined some street photography workshops in Hong Kong, attended travel photography workshops in India and Vietnam and suddenly I could not take my camera out of my hands anymore.

Everyone who knows me, knows that I love taking pictures and using my camera to capture moments - not just special moments, but everyday moments. I want to stop time in its tracks. That is what fascinates me the most about photography: I can freeze time, I can save the feeling and emotion of this moment in this exact spot and I can look at the image again and remember the energy of the moment.

After starting my own family and becoming a mother of two, I kept taking more and more pictures of my family, and then of family friends, and next I was photographing friends of family friends. And then I realised: I want to capture and share moments of babies, children and families in Hong Kong and beyond.

This is how Ruth Ansari Photography started, and my aim is to tell your story through beautiful images that shine a light on your memories.
